The country house has been renovated in rustic style and is part of an old farmstead dating from the beginning of the last century. Fields surround the house at the front and side.
The large garden looks out over a nature reserve with a 17th-century watermill, the Vanderlinden mill. The house at the front, no. 14, was built later for the miller who ran the watermill on the Boekelbeek behind it, reportedly commissioned by the Vande Eecken milling family in 1851.
The house is home to our family, and we are happy to welcome you here too.
The two guest rooms on the second floor of the country house sleep four to eight people, in completely newly built rooms with maximum comfort.
Our plans for the country house and its outbuildings are now almost complete. The house has been authentically restored and refurnished in rustic style. The country kitchen has been completely renewed. The breakfast room and the renovated kitchen are also available to our guests, which is why we explicitly ask you not to eat in the rooms — though we are happy to give you a bottle of wine or soft drinks to take along. The façade has been completely refreshed and, together with the spacious tree-lined drive, the house once again radiates its stately character of old.
We are gradually renovating the adjoining stables, without disturbing our guests in the country house. Several spaces are already available to our guests, such as a multi-purpose hall, a sauna area and an ecological outdoor swimming pool.
Once the third guest room is ready, B&B De Notelaar will be able to welcome up to 10 people.
In the final phase, B&B De Notelaar will offer five guest rooms with private facilities in the country house. In addition to the guest rooms, a bathroom, a breakfast corner, a kitchen, a dining area and a private living room will be made available to our guests. De Notelaar will then also be rented out as a holiday home to families or small groups, accommodating 10 to 17 people with the option of preparing your own meals.
